9mm ammo prices in 2026 — are we back to pre-2020 normal?

Been tracking 9mm prices for a while and wanted to share where things stand.

Current best prices I’m finding (FMJ brass case):

– Blazer Brass 115gr: $10.99/50 ($0.22/rd)
– Federal AE 115gr: $11.49/50 ($0.23/rd)
– Winchester White Box 115gr: $10.49/50 ($0.21/rd)
– PMC Bronze 115gr: $11.99/50 ($0.24/rd)

For comparison — historical prices:
– Pre-2020 average: ~$0.15-0.17/rd
– Peak 2021: $0.50-0.80/rd
– Mid 2022: $0.30-0.40/rd
– Now: $0.21-0.24/rd

Are we back to normal?
Getting close but not quite there. Pre-COVID you could routinely find brass 9mm for $0.15/rd on sale. We’re about 35-40% above that floor right now. Inflation accounts for some of this — if you adjust for CPI, we’re probably only 10-15% above the real pre-COVID price.

Best strategy:
Buy when it’s on sale, buy in bulk. WalMart still occasionally has WWB on clearance. Check GunDeals subreddit for alerts.
